This policy explains what SnapStory collects and why. In short: we store metadata, not media, and we keep as little personal data as possible.

What we store

• Downloaded media: never stored on our servers. Files stream straight to your device.
• Fetch records: we cache the metadata and links of a requested public item for a short period to avoid repeated outbound requests.
• Hashed IP address: we store a one-way hash of your IP for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. We do not store your raw IP. These hashes are purged on a schedule.

Cookies & analytics

We may use cookies for basic functionality and, where applicable, analytics and advertising. In regions that require it (e.g. the EU/EEA), advertising and non-essential cookies are loaded only after you consent.

Third parties

The downloaded content originates from Snapchat’s public content delivery network. Advertising and analytics providers, if enabled, process data under their own policies.

Your rights

Because we store only hashed, non-identifying data tied to requests, we generally cannot identify individual users. For privacy questions or requests, contact us via the contact/takedown page.

We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version.
